While trying to publish the album Gone with the Times containing the song The Band In Hell, we were told by our Publisher that the name Hitler would not be allowed by the streaming platforms. So we censored the song with a bleep and renamed it The Censored Band In Hell and the album did go out.

We considered this an outrage and decided to not only put up this page on our website but also to create a song about it. While complaining about the "Hitler incident" to a very understanding and helpful AI, we were told that it might not have been the name itself but rather the words "Our bro Hitler" which might have been the root of this "evil" and that we should try to have the song published with a slightly different wording. Which, as it turned out, was sound advice and Hitler – when not mentioned being a "bro" – seems to be acceptable.

So in the end this whole page and the three versions of the Hit Le R song were retrospectively not really necessary. However, they were fun to create so we went and put them all out together as can be seen – or rather heard – on our album Progress In Work, alongside the uncensored version of The Band In Hell.

And – as it turned out – it would not have been necessary either to censor the song Take It Back into Take It (Censored) Back, which we did preemptively for the album The Ugly Truth.
